In the vast and unforgiving world of Elden Ring, players constantly seek out powerful tools to aid them in their treacherous journey through the Lands Between. Among the various Spirit Ashes available, the Mimic Tear stands out as an absolute game-changer due to its unique ability to summon a perfect clone of your character. Finding this legendary summon requires players to navigate through a hidden underground city and overcome formidable challenges.

Defeating General Radahn to Uncover the Path

The journey to acquiring the Mimic Tear Spirit Ash begins with a monumental battle in the southern region of Caelid. Players must first defeat Starscourge Radahn during the Redmane Castle festival to set the stars back into motion. Once the demigod falls, a massive meteor strikes the mist-shrouded woods of Limgrave, opening up a deep crater in the earth.

You must travel to the area near Fort Haight in East Limgrave to locate this massive impact site. Carefully navigate down into the floating debris within the crater to gain access to the hidden underground realm. Following this path will lead you directly into the ancient structures of Nokron, Eternal City.

Navigating the Roofs of Night's Sacred Ground

Upon entering the main sections of Nokron, you must progress forward until you face the Mimic Tear boss itself. Defeating this mirror image is required to advance, though it does not reward you with the actual summon right away. From the nearby Site of Grace, head down the long bridge and look for a path leading off to the left side.

This route requires some careful platforming across the narrow ledges and rooftops of the Night's Sacred Ground area. Keep an eye out for silver tears and hostile entities that guard the structures along the way. Eventually, you will reach a large chapel window that allows you to safely climb inside the upper rafters.

Unlocking the Stonesword Key Barrier

Inside the upper level of the chapel, you will find a hidden room blocked by a glowing white fog wall. To clear this barrier and claim your reward, you will need to spend one Stonesword Key on the adjacent imp statue. Once the mist dissipates, you can safely approach the chest guarded by an unsuspecting enemy inside.

Opening this chest rewards you with the highly coveted legendary item. Unlike standard spirits that consume Focus Points, this unique companion requires a small portion of your maximum health pool to execute. Utilizing this summon effectively replicates your active armaments, selected spells, and equipped armor sets during difficult boss encounters.
